The MForce PowerDrive Speed Control is an advanced, high resolution microstepping driver developed for intelligent velocity control from an array of possible input sources with an output current of 5.0 A RMS (7.0 A Peak). Features include:

  • 10-bit analog input which can operate in three different input modes: voltage, current and PWM.
  • 20 microstep resolutions from full step to 51,200 steps per revolution.
  • Programmable Run and Hold Current
  • All parameters are software configuarable (setup utility included) - no external switches or resistors required.

QuickStart Kit
MForce QuickStart Kit

All-inclusive QuickStart Kits facilitate rapid design verification by bundling any one of over 156,000 MForce products -- built to your specifications -- with everything needed to connect quickly and conveniently, enabling engineers to confirm with confidence that their application’s design goals are met. QuickStart Kits include: a single sheet instruction guide, software/manuals CD, and connecting cabling including Communications Converter and Prototype Development Cable(s).

Order QuickStart Kits simply by placing a “K-” at the beginning of an MForce part number

Above photo represents a QuickStart Kit. Kit cabling varies with MForce ordered.

TO VIEW complete QuickStart Kit components list by MForce Part #: Interactive MForce Part Builder.

CONNECTIVITY NOTE: Communications Converters and Prototype Development Cables, in addition to Mating Connector Kits for use in building your own cables, are available separately. Refer to the following section for more complete details.

  • Mating Connector Kits

Electrically Isolated, in-line converters pre-wired with mating connectors to conveniently set parameters and program a single MForce via a PC USB port.

To view connectivity options for each model MForce, select from the drop-down listing above.

Converter Part Number Mating Connector Type
MD-CC300-001 (USB to SPI) 10-Pin IDC
MD-CC302-001 (USB to SPI) 10-Pin Friction Lock Wire Crimp

If building your own cabling, you will need:

  • SPI inline converter or PC parallel port
  • Appropriate Mating Connectors
  • Cabling with appropriate mating connectors for the MForce model selected

Prototype development cables are designed to speed test/development with pre-wired mating connectors that have flying leads other end. No prototype development cables are available for the MForce using the 12' Flying Leads or Pluggable Clamp Terminal Strip.

These cables will only be used on the pluggable interface model of the MForce PowerDrive Speed Control

PD12B-1434-FL3 12-Pin Locking Wire Crimp I/O
PD04-MF34-FL3 4-Pin Locking Wire Crimp Motor

If building your own cabling, you will need:

  • Appropriate mating connector and crimp pins if required (Mating connector kits are available for Locking Wire Crimp style connectors)
  • Crimp tooling (Locking Wire Crimp)
  • Shielded twisted pair cabling

Used to build your own cables. Kits contain 5 mating connector shells with pins. Cable not supplied. Manufacturer crimp tooling recommended.
