Upgrading the firmware

 

Tutorial overview

This tutorial covers upgrading the firmware in the motion control device using the upgrade utility included in SPI Motor Interface.

Before upgrading

  • IMPORTANT! It is recommended that you review this procedure in its entirety
    before performing the upgrade.
  • It is recommended that the most recent version of SPI Motor Interface software be installed on your PC prior upgrading the fi rmware.
  • Verify that the firmware in your product is older than the current version by entering the upgrade utility by clicking the upgrade menu item on SPI motor Interface. The previous version and upgrade version are in the fields on the dialog..

What you need:

  1. PC running a 32-bit version of Microsoft Windows
  2. MDrivePlus or MForce Step / direction input.
  3. MD-CC30X-001 USB to SPI or equvalent communication converter cable
  4. SPI Motor Interface installed.
  5. The latest firmware release for MDrivePlus/MForce [download now] Step / direction input.
