Washdown Machine (Proof of Concept)

This is a typical application that uses an MDrive not only to control motion, but also to manage digital I/O and operator input. The application specification is for a washdown machine. A conveyor will pass through a 36” long wash chamber with water jets on the top, bottom and both sides.

The operator will need to be able to input into a terminal or HMI the length of time in seconds that the parts will be in the wash chamber, and which sets of water jets will be used in the washdown cycle, either top/bottom, left/right or both.

The MDrivePlus²-65 (sealed version) Motion Control fits the bill:

Sealed IP65 rated for the wet environment.
MDrivePlus can drive the conveyor.
Math functions can calculate the velocity of the conveyor.
Robust I/O can be used as outputs to drive relays to turn on/off the water jets selectively. Remaining inputs can be used as Start (G0) and Soft Stop.
The MDrivePlus Motion Control becomes the single drive and control solution for the application.
